Guys even H1B increases are not that bad. A lot of our spouses could get jobs on h1b if it was open just now. Ultimately isint that what we want? Both husband and wife working?
I know that it could have a possible effect on the EB but I think a LOT of our spouses could work if the H1B quota was available. I know atleast 2-3 such friends whose wives can easily get jobs if the H1B was open.

Today I spoke to a Representative who deals with immigration issue at Sen Mike Dewine's (R-OH) office. I spoke to him for 15 minutes to understand what he and his senator think about this CIR.
Here is he and his senator feels about this bill. It is difficult for him to say that when CIR bill will be introduced in senate floor . It depend on Majority and Minority leaders to decide. Majority leader told to the media that he will introduce before the end of the may, he is mostly consistent, but there are several bills where he has committed a timeline and till today it is not on the floor.
However he told that once CIR pass, legal immigration is already taken care of, but if it does not passes there are bills like SKIL which will be put before the floor. But CIR has to fail or pass before you see this SKILL bill on the floor.

Any realistic numbers how many EB3 India pending cases are there with PDs in each of 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 ...
Anyone know any links, USCIS keeps on posting some data all the time.
I can tell you there are roughly 100,000 labor applications filed (50,000 EB3) between Aug 2003 and Dec 2003 for EB India category. The reason was everybody wanted to clear thru regular process before PERM takes over. Those Labors filed after Aug 2003 and before PERM started are moved into backlog and are fully cleary last 4 th quarter. And so 90% of those EB3s may be still there (45,000) hanging. EB2s could have been cleared substantially till Dec 2003. It is all my guess work and not sceintific or factual.

I am very new to this forum and have been spending some time here just over the past few weeks. I am trying to learn the ropes of this EB green card system. As someone pointed, I belong to those on the "fence" not knowing what or how to be effective with my time and money in these efforts. I like this thread and I think I want to begin my involvement through this effort.
My opinion is that we don't need a 1000 people to contribute to reach $100000 for the effort. Those who are willing to give $100 would not, I think, hesitate to give another $100 or even more to speed up the process. I for one will contribute $200 and if necessary more for this effort.

Man-woman-gc just gave a ballpark - 100 is bare minimum, of course more than that is always welcome, i see a 500 dollars too ;-)

Let me first of all thank you for taking a strong stand for your highly skilled employees at this critical time. I am on an H1b visa and am a certified professional working in this country. I just wanted to ask you a few question. The biotech firms employ a lot of people on H1b visas. How come none of them, excluding Genentech, is included in the compete america group's letter to the congress. I strongly feel and pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations, other biotech companies should also be included to stand for the H1b visa and green card issue for their employees. Seccond question I would like to ask is about the provision to renew the H1b in increment of 3 years each after the 6th year, which apparently has been taken off in this new CIR bill. This is a very technical issue and employers would not want to loose the trained employees after the 6th year period. It does not make any sense to refuse renewability of the H1b after 6 years since by that time that employee has already become an asset to the company or this nation. Please make sure to stand for that particular issue. H1b should be renewable in increments of 3 years each if the GC has been filed by the 5th year. Let me thank you for successfully campaigning for increasing the H1b numbers and hopefully this will enable me to move from my present acadamic position (Ast Prof at XXXXXX) to an Industry. There is ABSOLUTELY NO QUESTION of contacting state chapter heads. State chapter heads are not your personal lackeys. They are members who receive instructions from the IV core team to take on initiatives.
This is NOT an initiative that the ENTIRE IV community supports and hence will NOT be taken up by state chapter heads. The key here is UNITY UNITY UNITY. You have chosen to break the FIRST CODE of IV ethics and that is UNITY.
Lastly, it is NOT upto YOU to decide what is ethical and unethical. It is upto the CORE team. So please consult with the core team before you make up the rules.

Generally speaking two recent pay stubs are sufficient to verify that you remain with the same employer. It is possible that if your petition is pending for more than 10 or 12 months, either a job offer letter or additional pay stubs will be requested.
So you were not referring to Employment Letter for GC job, rather Current Employment Letter while discussing how to file I-485.

Another silent deshi employer here trying to scar H1s not to sue. I guess he created his ID (Join Date: Apr 2008) just for this.
Go and create another website in favour of deshi blood su&^%$rs called reverse-IV.org. Don't try to mock here.
Oh Boy. What I wanted to know was if attorney is willing to work on contigency basis (couldn't get that word right), then we can risk. I wish I was a desi employer. I know in a chaos situation everyone is a suspect. I didn't give more accurate info in my profile because, i know some of my colleagues spy for my employer. I am in my 9th year on h1 and still struggling. though i said example of my friend, i personally paid 350 to a labor attorney last week to evaluate my non-compete. no matter who says what, i again repeat u either have to spend money and or loose job if you violate. ofcourse each case is different and has to be reviewed.
BTW I believe H1 issue and non-compete are different. I think (y)our desperate situation and anger on h1b process is leading to this reply. but non-compete comes under labor and employment.

IF you are in such a big hole, you will have to come forward and work for yourself. We want others to work for us and solve our problems. That is my issue here. With 11.25 K EB3 members we would have still collected quarter million bucks.(@ 25$/person) If EB3-I does not care for itself, why would anybody else give a damn? (PS : I did contribute for the drive as I want everybody's issues with respect to GC resolved, not just mine)

It's just hidden but when you do export to csv it shows everything. This is not secure. Please be careful with sharing your phone # on public domains.

However, keeping this concern in mind that may prevent some members from supporting, i have removed the email ID and ph# column from the public spreadsheet. I will maintain a separate spreadsheet with list of email ID's and ph# so that we can get in touch as soon as it is time for some real action.
